What I like about The Imagine Bus Project is that it keeps you busy… instead of running around driving your parents crazy you get to draw and paint and color. You can even do homework if you have to. I like it when other people look at my art. It's fun.

YOUTH STUDIO
SierrYOuth
Sierra Youth Center, 2011

Youth Studio is a year-round visual arts program that serves incarcerated youth. During weekly art classes, youth explore issues of race, immigration, violence, and cultural identity to express experiences and ideas, make connections to the world and to others, and learn the value of collaboration, civic pride, and compassion.

Supporting youth throughout the program are TIBP’s teaching artists who challenge incarcerated youth to develop art skills, collaborate across gang affiliations, and develop life skills such as creative thinking, self esteem, and focus.
